London City Airport (LCY) Information

One of five major airports serving metropolitan London, London City Airport is situated on the city's eastern side, on the north bank of the Thames. The airport is 5kms from Canary Wharf, 10kms from the financial district, and 16kms from the West End. A single terminal handles nearly 1.7 million passengers per year. There are good connections to Switzerland, Germany and other parts of northern Europe, as well as several locations in the UK including Manchester, Liverpool and Edinburgh. Airport parking at London City

A short-stay car park adjacent to the terminal charges £4 for the first hour, or £22 per day. Rates are slightly less in the main car park, a short walk from the terminal. Long-term parking discounts are offered for periods of more than one week. Free valet parking is also offered.

Getting to and from London City

By car, the airport can be reached from north London via the A406, and from the east and west by way of the A13. Shuttle buses leave the airport approximately every 10 minutes for Canning Town (a 10-minute journey), and Liverpool Street Station (25 minutes), from where underground, railway or bus links connect with all parts of greater London and beyond. Local buses also serve the airport directly, and depart from outside the terminal for numerous area destinations. A direct railway link (Docklands Light Railway) to London City Airport is scheduled to open in late 2005. A licensed taxi rank (black cabs) is situated outside the terminal building; fares to most parts of London range from £20-£25.
