Situated 8kms north of Bournemouth city centre, Bournemouth Airport handles 500,000 passengers per year. The recently renovated terminal serves scheduled flights to France, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Italy, as well as to Ireland and the Channel Islands. Airport parking at Bournemouth

Three car parks at the airport can accommodate 1,500 vehicles. Car park 3 is nearest the terminal, and is used primarily for short stays and collecting arriving passengers. The first 10 minutes are free; after that, rates are about €1.85 (£1.25) per hour, up to a daily rate of €36 (£24). Car parks 1 and 2 are suitable for both short and long stays. Car park 1 is located immediately in front of the terminal, while car park 2 is north of the terminal. Both are just a few minutes' walk. Fees in these car parks are €1.50 (£1) for the first hour and about €0.75 (£0.50) per hour after that, with a maximum daily rate of €12 (£8). Weekly rates are €57 (£38), and about €6 (£4) per day afterward.

Getting to and from Bournemouth

The airport is a 15-minute drive from Bournemouth city centre via the A338, which is reached from the airport by way of the B3073. If driving from London (175kms) or anywhere along the M3 corridor, take the M3 southbound for Southampton. Where the M3 joins the M27/A31, follow it westbound until turning south on the A338. The airport is 48kms from Southampton. Salisbury is 40kms north on the A338. Distinctive yellow buses connect the airport with Bournemouth city centre (a 20-minute journey) as well as the Travel Interchange, 10kms from the airport, from where trains run to Southampton (35 minutes) and London (105 minutes). Buses run about every hour on most days. Airport-approved taxis are also on hand to meet incoming flights.

Financial facilities include a bureau de change and ATMs. Shops feature duty-paid and export-only goods including perfume, wines and spirits, and other luxury items. Also on hand is a large shop offering magazines, newspapers, books, travel accessories, stationery, games, snacks and more. The Bar des Voyageurs offers drinks from an impressive airside view.
