Benbecula Airport (BEB) Information
Introduction
Benbecula Island is situated between North Uist and South Uist, in the Outer Hebrides (or Western Isles) off of Scotland's northwest coast. The airport is located directly on the seacoast on the island's northwest side, less than 1km from Benbecula's largest town, Balivanich. The terminal building, with three check-in desks and two gates, is open from 9:00 until 17:45 Monday through Friday; 9:30 to 11:30 and 14:45 to 16:45 on Saturday; and 12:30 to 14:00 on Sunday. Loganair flights connect with Glasgow and Barra, and Highland Airways operates a route to and from Stornoway. Airport parking at Benbecula
A small car park located just outside the terminal entrance will accommodate 50 vehicles for short-term parking, and 30 for long-term.
Getting to and from Benbecula
The airport is on the B892 road, which leads west directly into Balivanich. About 2kms to the east, just beyond Uachdar, the road joins the A865 roadway which runs north through Grimsay to North Uist Island, and southward to South Uist Island, about 10kms distant. Ferries departing from North and South Uist run to the Isles of Harris, Barra and Skye, and to the mainland. Amenities at Benbecula Airport
There are no financial or business facilities in the terminal. A small shop sells newspapers, books and gifts, and there is a café which offers light meals and refreshments.
