Musée des Souvenirs Napoléoniens is a curious museum which should be visited. But much more interesting is the classic Musée Océanographique, which focuses on the life and work of Jacques Cousteau. In Monaco there is plenty to see and do. In the surrounding area there are beautiful yet claming places to be seen. Nice is the region which is buzzing full of tourists and more commercialised. It is just a quite town but it is a old town and bright town at night. Some of Nice’s highlights include the Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Cathédrale Sainte Réparate, Palais Lascaris and the Opéra House, as well as its museums. Antibes is home to the most beautiful beaches, at the same time Cannes is a brilliant place to go if you want to discover more museums.

Many of the people which come to Monaco come to see the wealthiest people and to stroll along the café pavements. Monaco has some of the priciest restaurants and a large variety of boutiques. At the same time the marina shows off the spectacular yachts, which are a popular place to come to.

Getting to Monaco

The nearest international airport is in Nice, which is about 45 minutes drive from Nice airport. From nice there are regular flights from many of the European cities and there are very limited transatlantic flights.

If you are planning on driving to Monaco, then you can take the N7 northeast. It is a 19 km drive which might take about 35 minutes; this would be of heavy traffic. But if you are driving from Paris then you can follow the A6 to Lyon, then you can take the A7 South to Aix-en-Provence and the A6 to Monaco.

There are frequent train services from Cannes, Nice, Antibes and Menton. If you are going from Paris to Monaco, then trains depart from the Gare de Lyon and there are at least 2 trains per day. Not only this there is frequent bus services which are every 15 minutes from Nice, Beaulieu and Menton.
