Malmo-Sturup Airport (MMX) Information

Introduction

Located 30kms southeast of Malmo, near the southern tip of Sweden, this international airport accommodates 1.75 million passengers per year. A single terminal, which is open 24 hours a day, handles all domestic, international and charter flights. Airport parking at Malmo

All car parks at the airport are guarded by 24-hour security surveillance. The indoor short-term car park P4 charges rates of €2.68 per hour, €18.20 per day and €75 per week. For outdoor short-term parking in car park P2, fees are €1.60 per hour, with a daily rate of €15. Long-stay parking in P1 and P3 costs €8.58 per day, and €37.50 per week. Slightly lower weekly rates are offered in car park P5.

Getting to and from Malmo

By car, the airport can be reached from Malmo via either the 108 road or the E65 highway. From Denmark, take the Oresund Bridge and then follow the signs on the E6 and E65 roadways. The distance from Copenhagen is 65kms. Buses depart from the airport 30 times daily for Malmo and Lund; journey time is about 45 minutes. Airport coaches also run daily to Copenhagen's central station, a 50-minute trip. Taxis are available at the taxi rank just outside the terminal. Travellers are advised to discuss the fare with the taxi driver before the journey, but the price to Malmo or Lund, for example, should be around €42.

Amenities at Malmo-Sturup Airport

Financial facilities include an ATM and a bureau de change. Shops in the international area of the terminal offer duty-free merchandise and cosmetics. On the domestic side, items for sale include fashions as well as newspapers, magazines and tobacco. Six cafes and restaurants situated throughout the terminal give travellers a variety of dining options. The airport's business centre provides fully-equipped meeting rooms for up to 55 persons. Other amenities include a children's play area, a post office and - for travellers caught up in the spirit of the moment - a wedding service.
