Peru Airports
Peru is located on South America's picturesque northwest coast, which borders Ecuador, Columbia, Brazil, Bolivia and Chile. Boasting a magnificent coastline that rests alongside the glorious Pacific Ocean, Peru is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in South America.
There are at least a dozen airports in Peru, the majority of which serve international and domestic flights, whilst a minority are reserved for access into Peru's more rural areas.
Most international flights come in from major US and Latin American cities, while passengers coming from Europe, Asia or Australasia will usually have to connect through Miami, Los Angeles or New York.
Lima-Callao/Chavez International Airport caters for five-million passengers per year and is without doubt Peru's largest and most well-equipped airport. The airport receives flights from numerous worldwide destinations including Europe, North America and Asia.
The airport is served by many major airlines including Aeroflot, Aerolineas Argentinas, Continental, Delta Air Lines, Iberia, KLM, LAN Peru, Lufthansa and VARIG Brazilian. A single terminal serves both domestic and international arrivals and departures. Buses provide access to central Lima from the airport, while taxis are also available.
