Bologna G. Marconi Airport (BLQ) information
Introduction
More than 3.5 million passengers travel through the airport each year, en route to Italy's Emilia-Romagna region (known as the country's food capital). Located 6 kms northeast of Bologna, the airport offers domestic flights as well as extensive connections to major European cities. Airport parking at Bologna
The airport's car parks have a capacity of 3,700 vehicles; 180 of the spaces are free of charge. Short-term parking with a two-hour maximum is available at €1.50 per hour. Express car parks located near arrivals and departures charge €1.60 and €2.10 per hour, respectively. A multi-level parking building (P1/P2) offers 1,450 covered spaces and 221 open; rates are €2.60 for up to one hour, €6.70 for three hours, €8.70 for eight hours, and €12 for an entire day. An additional car park, P3, has 1,129 spaces (406 covered) at similar rates. For long stays, car park P4 charges €35 for the first week and €23 for each additional week. Free shuttle bus service is offered from this car park to the terminal building. Valet parking is available on the second level of the multi-storey car park, where vehicles will be guarded and serviced, if desired.
Getting to and from Bologna
From the Bologna bypass road (Tangenziale), take exit 4; the airport is a further five minutes' drive. Several major motorways connect to the Bologna bypass road: from the A14, take the Bologna-San Lazzaro exit; from the A13, exit Bologna-Arcoveggio; from the A1, exit Bologna-Casalecchio. To reach the airport, take exit 4 off the bypass road, as indicated above. Aerobus service links the airport with Bologna's central railway station. Buses depart about every 20 minutes for the 20-minute trip into the city; the one-way fare is €4.50. Bus connections are also available to Modena (travel time 1 hour) and Siena (travel time 2 1/2 hours). Taxis are located outside the arrivals areas of both terminals.
Amenities at Bologna G. Marconi Airport
A full-service bank is located on the first floor of Terminal A, as well as a post office. ATMs and bureaux de change are found in both terminals. Various shops, including establishments offering magazines and books, shoes, fashions, leather goods and regional foods, are located in both terminals. Duty-free shopping is offered as well. Restaurants and bars are located throughout both the domestic and international terminals. A restaurant is also located outside the terminals adjacent to car park P3. Members-only Marconi Club VIP lounges in each terminal offer telecommunications facilities for business travellers. Membership subscription forms are available at the airport.
Information desks are situated in the departures area of each terminal. There is a tourist help desk in Terminal A's arrivals level.
