Hannover Airport (HAJ) Information

Introduction

Located 15kms north of Hannover, this airport handles about one million passengers per year. There are three terminals - A, B and C - which are situated within an easy walk of each other. In addition to extensive domestic flights, the airport offers connections with most of the major cities of Europe.

Airport parking at Hannover Airport

Several multi-storey car parks contain more than 7,000 spaces. Short-term parking for a maximum of one hour is located directly in front of the terminal area (30 minutes, €1). For long-term parking the rates are €2 per hour, with a daily rate of €12 and a weekly rate of €57. Specially discounted tourist rates are available for longer stays. Exclusive parking - monitored by video and motion detectors, and offering washing and maintenance service - is offered for a surcharge of €6.

Getting to and from Hannover Airport

Hannover Airport is just off the A352 motorway, with easy links to the autobahn network. There is a railway station at the airport, with trains running every 30 minutes to and from Hannover's central station. Journey time is 12 minutes, and the price of a one-way ticket is €2.40. Bus 471 leaves for Langenhagen-Zentrum station two or three times per hour. From there, a tram takes passengers to Hannover's central railway station. Taxi service is also readily available outside the arrivals area. Travel time to the city centre is about 20 minutes and costs about €20.

Amenities at Hannover Airport

Facilities include banks, ATMs, bureaux de change and a post office. Duty-free shopping is offered on the departure level of all terminals. Other establishments include a hair salon, a perfumery, a supermarket and a shop devoted to travel items and gifts. Five bars and several restaurants and cafes offer travellers a selection of food and drink. The Movenpick Conference Centre, located between Terminals A and B, provides business facilities for up to 350 persons.
