Bordeaux/Merignac Airport (BOD) information

Introduction

This moderate-sized airport, located 12 kilometres west of Bordeaux, is the main entry point to one of the world's great wine-producing regions. More than 3 million passengers pass through its gates each year. International travellers arrive primarily from the UK, Germany and Spain. The airport's L-shaped, two-level terminal is divided into two halls, designated Hall A (international) and Hall B (domestic). Arrivals are on the ground floor, departures on the upper.

Airport parking at Bordeaux/Merignac

The airport has four car parks: P0, P1, P2 and PR. Car park P0 is patrolled, and is nearest the terminal. Short-term parking close to the terminal is also found in PR, where parking is free for the first 30 minutes, and P1. Long-term parking is available in P2. Getting to and from Bordeaux/Merignac

Airport exits off the ring road surrounding Bordeaux are 11a and 11b. Motorway connections from Bordeaux to major cities in the region are extensive: the A-63 runs to Spain; the A-62 southeast to Toulouse; the A-89 northeast to Perigueux; and the A-10 to Paris. JetBus provides service between the airport and the city railway station every 45 minutes, from 6:45 to 22:45 (travel time, 40 minutes). The bus stop is located outside Hall B. Taxis are also available 24 hours a day.

Amenities at Bordeaux/Merignac Airport

In Hall A (international departures) there is a bank, a currency exchange bureau and a post office. ATMs are located on both levels of Hall B (domestic). Duty-free shopping is offered in the international departures area. Other shops at the airport include a newsagent, a gift shop and a perfumery. A number of bars and cafes can be found in both the domestic and international sections, with a restaurant located in the international hall. The airport has one VIP lounge. Fax and photocopying facilities are available on request in the departures area of the international hall.
