Copenhagen International Airport (CPH) Information

Introduction

Situated just 8kms southeast of Copenhagen, the airport is one of the most important hubs in northern Europe. Annual passenger traffic totals about 18 million. International destinations include all of Europe, plus the United States and Singapore. There are three terminal buildings: Terminal 1 for domestic flights; Terminal 2 for both domestic and international destinations; and Terminal 3 for most international flights.

The 2005 World Airport Awards, based on a passenger survey of airport standards, named Copenhagen the ninth-best airport in the world, and the third-best in Europe (behind Munich and Amsterdam). It was also voted as having the second-best airport dining facilities in the world (behind only Singapore).

Airport parking at Copenhagen

There are some 7,000 parking spaces at Copenhagen Airport, most of which are under roof. Parking is free at all car parks for the first 15 minutes. The multi-storey P4 parking building, and the covered car parks P6, P7 and P8, are nearest to Terminals 2 and 3. Here, rates are €2.70 for 30 minutes or €4 per hour, with daily rates of €20 to €25 and weekly rates of €120 to €147. Long-term, open-air parking is found in car parks P1, P5, P9 and P12, plus car parks F1 and F2. Rates vary from €10.75 to €16 per day, and €54 to €66 per week.

Getting to and from Copenhagen

By car, the airport is a short drive from Copenhagen via the E20. To reach Malmo, in Sweden, take the E20 eastward and cross the 16-kilometre-long Øresund Bridge. A railway station is located in Terminal 3. Trains run to Copenhagen every 10 minutes (journey time, 12 minutes), and depart for Malmo several times each day. There is scheduled bus service operating on the Copenhagen-airport-Malmo route; buses run to Aarhus and many other towns in Denmark as well. Taxi ranks are situated outside Terminals 1 and 3, and will transport arriving passengers to numerous local and regional destinations.
