Aarhus Airport (AAR) Information
Introduction
The airport is located 35kms northeast of Aarhus (also spelled Arhus), near Tirstrup on the east coast of Denmark's Jutland peninsula. There are daily flights to Copenhagen, Oslo, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Brussels and London. One terminal building, open from 6:00 until 22:00, handles 650,000 passengers annually.
Airport parking at Aarhus
The airport's two car parks, P1 and P2, contain more than 1,000 spaces for vehicles. Short-term parking in P1 costs €0.80 per hour, €8 per day and €32 per week. Car park P2, which is slightly farther from the terminal, is designed for long-term parking. There, rates are €0.67 per hour, €6.70 per day and €23.50 per week.
Getting to and from Aarhus
The E15 motorway runs directly from the airport to Aarhus; to reach Randers, branch off onto Route 21. Airport buses travel to and from Aarhus city centre for a one-way fare of €10; timetables are in conjunction with arriving and departing flights. There is also scheduled bus service from the airport to Randers. A taxi rank is located outside the arrivals area. The fare to Aarhus or Randers is €74; to Grenaa, €40; and to Ebeltoft, €27. SAS also offers limousine service into Aarhus, with a maximum of three passengers.
Amenities at Aarhus Airport
Essential facilities include a bureau de change and several ATMs. The airport's Euroshop sells duty-free spirits and tobacco products, plus an extensive selection of regular goods including cosmetics and fragrances; beer, wine and spirits; chocolate and confectionery; toys and gifts; Christmas ornaments; and porcelains from Royal Copenhagen.
